Opioid Epidemic

A Trial program to eliminate Opioid and other heavy drug addictions and to remove illegal drugs off the streets.      If a person has been proven to be addicted to opioids or other heavy drugs for other reasons other than severe pain, and are a criminal habitual offender, you can be placed in an environment where a person can not leave for one year. A drug free, sanitary environment with food, counseling and clean living. A back to basics rest camp. As part of the program a person will be asked to give the name of the dealer or dealers for the purpose of getting drugs off the streets. They will also have to go through the uncomfortable withdrawals in order to make a memory association to enhance recovery. Other rehabs soften or eliminate the withdraws symptoms with drugs at a high monetary expense and leave the patient with one less reason to stay off drugs.     This is not meant to be institutionalized incarceration such as jail, but more like a commune on a farm at an remote location where people can detach themselves from addiction and  reconnect with the person they once were. Many studies suggest that it takes the brain one year to beat addition. With simply a roof over their head, food, sanitary conditions and counseling, this program is meant to be massively less expensive then traditional 30 -90 day rehabs and breaks the need for pharmaceutical maintenance drugs such as methadone and Suboxone.   Although this would be a trial program and may not work, we must continually try to fight this problem that is killing over 70,000 U.S. citizens per year, cost Americans over 500 Billion, and is the cause of 1/2 of all major crime in our country.       The last thing the pharmaceutical companies want is for people to stop using their drugs.

National Red Flag and Secure gun law

Common sense laws meant to protect citizens and especially children against gun injury or death, while protecting the 2nd amendment. No additional restrictions on gun ownership is necessary.

A red flag law is a gun control law that permits police or family members to petition a state court to order the temporary removal of firearms from a person who may present a danger to others or themselves. A judge makes the determination to issue the order based on statements and actions made by the gun owner in question. Due process must be giving.

A secure gun law mandates safe storage of firearms when not being carried or used. This is not mandatory gun locks legislation but merely the responsibility of the gun owner to secure his or her firearms from unauthorized possession. This legislation would address the issue of unauthorized access of firearms from children and others who may do harm. These laws would not infringe on the 2nd amendment and would make it drastically less likely that firearms are in the wrong hands.

Drug Safe Haven Law

Making Drug Safe Havens illegal. Many cities around the country are opening up drug safe havens where drug users are allowed to shoot up. This is not a responsible solution to our Opioid epidemic. Our children and citizens deserve better than having our beaches, parks and streets littered with hazardous needles. We need to try harder solving the opioid epidemic, and not give up. My proposed bill would make Drug Safe Havens illegal.

Alternative Fuel incentives

As part of the all the above energy agenda, I would propose a bill that would bring back the 30% federal tax credit and more importantly implement funding for marketing of all federal programs that help the average American. So many programs are overlooked and never taken advantage of.
